NEWTON's Ask A Scientist service is not designed to answer all the questions we receive. Our focus is on specific questions from K-12 students and teachers that are not commonly found in either reference books, libraries or textbooks.
Here, we have provided some hints to get the most out of this service.
- Please send only one question at a time. Multiple questions may not be accepted.
- We send out questions to the experts who can address them best. This means that answering your question might take time, so please be patient with us, and we will try to get back to you promptly.
- Please check the archive page first. We may direct you to an archive page if we have detected a similar question in the past.
- In answering your question, if the question is common knowledge, our service may point you to helpful reference links that can answer your question. Libraries and online reference sites are important tools that are not used by many students.
